Job Summary

Based in our thriving facilities in East Cowes the Calibration Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Companys business by the calibration and maintenance of electronic and electrical instrumentation across both sites.

Job Responsibilities

Typical respopnsbilities will include:

  • Ensuring all equipment meets the relevant specifications.
  • Maintaining calibration records in accordance with ISO 10021-1 latest issue.
  • Maintaining full computerised company and personal recall records.
  • Ensuring compliance with CAA FAA Nadcap and customer requirements.
  • Locating and dispatching equipment for external calibration ISO UKAS British Standards Manufacturers specification or in house customer requirements.
  • Being a point of contact for internal or external calibration requirements.
  • Prioritising calibration requirements.
  • Sourcing and ordering new equipment and spares for the mechanical calibration department.
  • Writing and maintaining work instruction to latest specifications.
  • Maintaining safe working procedures.
  • Ensuring we are working to the latest National or International Standards.
  • Identify and introducing cost saving and improve working practices.
  • Capability of performing secondary calibration methods to support business needs.
  • Capability of making minor adjustments to assets to enable meeting closer tolerances.

Job Qualifications

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) gained through the successful completion of a formal apprenticeship in a manufacturing engineering or related subject.
  • Significant previous calibration experience gained within an industrial environment with a focus on electronic and electrical instrumentation calibration
  • Any formal metrology training or qualification would he bugely advantageous as would knowledge of the aerospace manufacturing industry and its associated standards
