You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPerforms initial examinations and provides physical therapy intervention to a diverse patient population. Works under the supervision of the Therapy Manager. (Inpatient Rehab and Acute) This position requires at least five years experience and has the opportunity to rotate across inpatient rehab and Acute services. The Physical Therapist II will have affiliating students and assume clinical and/or administrative duties.
1. Performs initial examinations establishes appropriate goals plans and implements treatment interventions performs timely re-examinations and modifies goals and treatment interventions accordingly. Coordinates with other disciplines when indicated.
2. Assumes responsibility for all documentation requirements in a timely manner i.e. initial examinations progress notes and discharge summaries.
3. Provides training to families or care partners and medical personnel as indicated.
4. Recommends appropriate durable medical equipment in coordination with appropriate team members. Writes letters of medical necessity when indicated.
5. Participates in discharge planning makes recommendations for continued physical therapy and provides home exercise programs when appropriate.
6. Attends all appropriate conferences rounds in services and meetings.
7. Will be assigned additional patients in the event that coverage is necessary as dictated by staffing needs.
8. Maintains therapy attendance records patient charges and statistics.
9. Participates in the supervision of Rehab Patient Care Associates volunteers and students.
10. Must be a current member of the APTA.
11. Must follow all MSH policies and procedures.
12. Serves as a clinical instructor to students and participates in student development.
13. Participates in research as opportunities permit.
14. Serves as a resource for coverage and assists the Therapy Manager/Senior Therapists in operational planning.
15. Maintains productivity expectations specific to each service.
16. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psychosocial educational safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area

a. Identifies physical behavioral and emotional characteristics typical for the age group
b. Modifies approaches based on patient age-specific needs and responses to treatment
c. Provides care for patients based on age-specific needs

Educational/Professional development
1. Meets regulatory licensure and annual health assessment requirements.

4. Plans and participates in inservice educational programs
5. Attend a minimum of 2 continuing education courses per year and present on them to the staff.
6. Adheres to specific department dress code and hospital dress code
7. Adheres to department hours
8. During work hours performs those duties only relating to the department.
9. Adheres to department policies on attendance sick days vacation and personal time.

1. Demonstrates a professional courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients families and significant others.

Education Requirements
Masters Degree in Physical Therapy or higher.
Experience Requirements
5 years of related experience
Licensing and Certification Requirements (if applicable)
License: Physical Therapy Graduate from an accredited PT curriculum
