The AWS Global Network Deployment (GND) team is searching for a passionate and talented technical infrastructure program manager (TIPM) to drive Data Center and Network Capacity deployment efficiencies. You will assess the demand requirements along with available network resources to determine and drive prime solutions for our customers. You will work with stakeholders to complete pre-requisites necessary to deliver critical networking capacity. You will lead programs with goals to improve infrastructure resource utilization and availability. You will work with teams across the AWS Organization to effectively plan and deliver data center capacity.
Key job responsibilities
Delivers programmatic customer solutions including deployment dependency mappings/RACI removing systemic blockers from deployment pipeline via automation/process simplification.
Manage dependencies between programs by anticipating risk customer demand and negotiating the trade-off required to resolve issues and initiate corrective action.
Drives continuous improvement of programmatic solutions using data-driven trends and automated solutions to meet the needs of the customer.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) training documents playbooks program features lessons learnt etc. that pertain to the program
Establish and refine mechanisms for customer engagement including regular program status reports program trends risk impact and have clear escalation processes.
Collaborate with key stakeholders (vendor management sourcing planning & infrastructure delivery builders) to define requirements and processes.
Communicate effectively with all types of audiences including writing narratives business cases and strategic documentation
Seek guidance as needed but have a solid understanding of the business problems tools workflows and the interdependencies that pertain to the program.
Share best practices in project/program management across the organization
- 3 years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (i.e. network data center hardware software)
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds and a fundamental understanding of Data Center IT Infrastructure
- Proven program or project management experience
- Experience in managing multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to dive deep and resolve problems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to translate complex business problems into clear and accurate results
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure. (i.e. network data center hardware software)
- Makes optimal tradeoffs between schedule resources and scope and applies advanced technical and business knowledge to address major risks challenges and obstacles.
- Anticipates identifies and drives resolution of technical challenges and interdependencies to prevent downstream problems.
- Direct experience with the deployment of AWS network cabling and infrastructure.
- Experience in stakeholder management at various organizational levels
- Experience communicating with senior management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in ambiguous environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
