Auditor 9-P11

This position functions as an auditor in the Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Audit Audit Division Public Health and Community Services Programs Audit Section. The employee in this position is responsible for satisfying Federal requirements for conducting financial compliance audits of the Division of Victim Services subrecipients.

The employee in this position performs a full range of professional audit assignments of the Division of Victim Services Programs at local governmental entities Indian tribal governmental entities non-profit organizations hospitals and universities to ensure compliance with MDHHS grant program rules and fiscal policies; Department of Justice (DOJ) Health and Human Services (HHS) and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines; applicable Federal statutes and regulations; and the terms and conditions of the subawards.

The employee works independently with minimum supervision and performs all the tasks necessary in completing such Federally-mandated addition the employee performs audits of other programs that may be assigned.

Auditor 12
This position functions as a senior auditor in the Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Audit Audit Division Public Health and Community Services Programs Audit Section. The employee in this position is responsible for satisfying Federal requirements for conducting on-site or in-house financial compliance audits of the Division of Victim Services subrecipients. The employee in this position performs a full range of professional audit assignments of the Division of Victim Services Programs at local government entities Indian tribal governmental entities non-profit organizations hospitals and universities to ensure compliance with MDHHS grant program rules and fiscal policies; Department of Justice (DOJ) Health and Human Services (HHS) and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines; applicable Federal statutes and regulations; and the terms and conditions of subawards. The employee functions as a senior auditor working independently at an advanced level and performing all the tasks necessary in completing such federally-mandated audit addition the employee performs audits of other programs as may be assigned and audits of MDHHS providers having significant complexity; and assists with the investigation of alleged errors or irregularities.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a bachelors degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.

Experience

Auditor 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Auditor 10
One year of professional experience auditing accounting financial and operations records equivalent to an Auditor 9.

Auditor P11
Two years of professional experience auditing accounting financial and operations records equivalent to an Auditor including one year equivalent to an Auditor 10.

Auditor 12
Three years of professional experience auditing accounting financial and operations records equivalent to an Auditor including one year equivalent to an Auditor P11.

Alternate Education and Experience

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certification (CPA) may be substituted for one year of experience at the P11 level.

OR

Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of experience at the P11 level.

Possession of a Certified Internal Auditor certification or a Certified Information System Auditor certification may be substituted for one year of experience at the P11 level for positions responsible for internal auditing.

OR

Possession of a bachelors degree with 24 semester credits (36 term) in finance information systems or management may be substituted for the education for positions responsible for internal auditing.

Additional Requirements and Information

****New Employees may be paid a signing bonus up to $2500. Up to $1250 may be paid at hire. Up to $1250 may be paid after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period.****

The physical location of this position is 235 South Grand Avenue Lansing MI 48909.Based on operational needs and within established limits remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Suitable lighting furniture and utilities.
