We have an exciting new position within our Global Project Centre of Excellence (PCoE) function. Working as part of an AI visionary team you will help revolutionise project delivery governance and assurance at a global scale.
We have flexibility for this role to be based in the Americas where BHP corporate offices are in Santiago (Chile) and Saskatoon (Canada).
The Principal AI role is part of a dedicated AI team in BHPs Project Centre of Excellence (PCoE). Working in partnership with our project communities were using AI to drive innovation and achieve project excellence.
As a Principal AI you will be a trusted advisor partnering at all levels across our global and regional project teams and consulting with your customers directly to understand their pain points and opportunities. You will be passionate about identifying value and then using this knowledge to rapidly develop and support the AI solutions that have the greatest impact.
You will be given autonomy to bring your creativity and style to work and form authentic and long term relationships by working closely with peers in diverse teams both within PCoE and project delivery groups. You will also collaborate across other functions including BHP Technology teams that enable and support our AI solution platforms.
You will have a background and preferably be degree qualified in STEM or related disciplines. You will be able to demonstrate relevant professional Data Science / AI experience ideally aiding large scale projects.
You will be comfortable delivering AI solutions including documentation coding testing and engaging with end users of our AI solutions.
Your technical skills include many of the following:
Python including Pandas API development machine learning including regression models scikit-learn TensorFlow.
GenAI including natural language processing RAG and LLM reasoning / prompting.
Data wrangling and data ingestion from a range of data sources including SAP SharePoint and Snowflake as well as unstructured data such as documents spreadsheets and drawings.
Data integration including use of LLM APIs to create content set up and management of vector databases and development of retrieval pipelines.
AWS cloud services including Sagemaker Bedrock API Gateway Lambda functions SNS and SQS.
MS Power Platforms.
MS CoPilot Studio.
MS Power BI.
UI frameworks such as Streamlitor JavaScript-based frameworks.
