The Audio-Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for the installation troubleshooting maintenance and operation of
AV systems. The role includes ensuring high-quality AV experiences across various settings and supporting the
technical team by resolving technical issues efficiently. The position requires a balance of technical expertise
customer support and attention to detail
Accountabilities:
Install and configure AV systems including projectors sound systems video conferencing equipment and
control systems.
Ensure equipment functionality through testing and adjustments.
Diagnose and resolve AV system issues including hardware software and network connections.
Conduct preventive maintenance and keep a detailed log of repairs and technical issues.
Provide technical support during events and assist users with AV setups.
Operate equipment as needed during presentations and meetings to ensure smooth operation.
Collaborate on AV installations and upgrades.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for equipment sourcing or replacement.
Maintain up-to-date documentation for AV systems and report issues for improved decision-making
Requirements
Education experience training and skills required:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor s degree in a related field preferred.
2 years of experience in AV installation maintenance and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with AV systems and equipment.
Knowledge of networked AV systems and AV industry standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for technical guidance and support.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Working Conditions:
Physical requirements include lifting equipment and working at heights as needed.
Schedule flexibility with occasional evenings or weekends based on events
Education experience, training, and skills required: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor s degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years in fiber optic installation, splicing, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with fiber optic systems, including splicing and testing equipment, and a solid understanding of network infrastructure. Strong troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for providing technical guidance and collaborating with team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
