Job Description
This position supports a large and growing pulmonary and cardiac oncologic interstitial and transplant service and includes a funded fellowship addition to patient care activities the incumbent will be expected to participate in medical student and house staff teaching and develop or continue his/her research program. Outstanding opportunities for collaborative translational research are available with members of basic science and clinical departments throughout UTSW. The Department of Pathology of UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an accomplished academic pathologist at the Assistant Associate or Professor rank with subspecialty training and expertise in Thoracic/Pulmonary Pathology. Candidates must possess an MD MD/PhD or DO; BE/BC by the American Board of Pathology; and be eligible for Texas medical license.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research work on or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
