Join us at Amazon Redshift Data Management team to solve the challenging problems associated with building a database engine and managing a petabyte-scale system. You will be responsible for design and development of new features to enhance availability scalability and performance of the system.
Key job responsibilities * Design develop test deploy and maintain large scale software solutions using best practices * Write clean readable and maintainable code and debug complex problems spanning across different systems * Communicate complex features problems and solutions effectively and in details * Work with other teams to design deliver and maintain large scale features * Enhance the architecture scalability reliability and performance of the system * Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers
About the team Amazon Redshift is a fully managed AI powered petabyte-scale cloud data warehouse service. Tens of thousands of customers today depend on Redshift to revolutionize their data analytics processes providing vital insights for their businesses. We are part of Redshift Data Management team and some of our key areas of focus are high scalability performance storage transaction processing and autonomics.
- 8 years of non-internship professional software development experience - 8 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 4 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Masters degree in computer science or equivalent - 3 years of experience in design and development of large scale distributed databases or filesystem. - 5 years experience writing large scale systems in C or C
