Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic practical individual to join the hospital team in Tonj as an obstetrician/gynecologist who will be directly responsible for the provision of quality specialized clinical obstetric and gynecological services and provide leadership to the department staff. S/He oversees hospital-level activities under HSTP working in coordination with other project staff to deliver results aligned to specific project objectives and work plans. S/He will supervise and build clinical management capacity of the midwives midwives assistants anesthetists and clinical team. Other duties include supporting other surgical procedures delivering trainings and producing reports assessments and technical monitoring and evaluation of service. S/He will be critical in accelerating key health indicators that have been lagging behind in the hospital performances within the shorter period of time. This will be achieved with support from other medical teams in the hospital under the leadership of the hospital director and the Amref team at the Lot level and the program level.
Qualifications :
Minimum Education
- Medical doctor with postgraduate studies (masters) in obstetrics and gynecology Surgery or equivalent postgraduate education from a recognized institution.
Experience
- At least five years of experience in Clinical and surgical practice with the ability to conduct elective and emergency obstetric care independently;
- Previous NGO experience in a resource-limited setting;
- Working in hardship areas with minimal supervision;
- Good public relations with government officials and other partners including community-based organizations
Skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good communication skills and a collaborative and multidisciplinary interest
- Has a thorough knowledge of English (both oral and written). Basic Arabic is an added advantage.
- Extremely flexible with the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Mental Competence Decision-Making
Able to supervise the technical team and guide decision-making in difficult procedures in saving lives.
