Our Blue Mountains Infrastructure Team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Field Supervisor to plan develop implement and manage approved works and maintenance programs for the Branch so that the natural and cultural heritage is enhanced and conserved and the public have access to high quality safe recreational walking track infrastructure within the Blue Mountains Branch.
The Senior Field Supervisor also ensures the cost efficiency of works and maintenance programs and effective deployment and development of field staff and the appropriate acquisition and use of equipment.
Based in the Blue Mountains Branch in the Blackheath office this role works across the broader Blue Mountains branch including Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage parks Gardens of Stone Mt Royal National Park Abercrombie and Wombeyan Caves state conservation areas and reserves.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience in the implementation of works programs to a high standard and the application of effective strategies to ensure timely and cost-efficient completion of works and identify and assess the advantages and disadvantages of using field staff or contracting specific regular works for best use of available resources.
You will have the demonstrated ability to develop annual works and maintenance programs involving consultation with the management and field staff based on the Operations Plan and are reviewed regularly ensuring planning is undertaken after consultation with management to ensure that priorities identified are met.
With good communication and interpersonal skills you will have experience in managing a broad range of external relationships including park neighbours general public and with other government departments and community groups.
Essential Requirements
This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSWs most precious natural places.
Applicants must meet the requirements of a specific medical assessment) which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake the fitness test for firefighting fitness roles (i.e. moderate level Task-Based Assessment for Firefighters) within the 12-month probationary period if relevant.
The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
