This vacancy is open to current North Carolina state government and current UNC System employees only or previous NC state government and UNC System employees with unexpired RIF priority re-employment rights. Current temporary employees working in NC state government or in the UNC System will also be considered.



The Letting & Compliance Systems (LCS) Product Team Supervisor serves as a key leader in the analysis design configuration development implementation and support of the AASHTOWare Project (AWP) a highly configurable Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) solution. This role ensures that AWP effectively supports critical North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) functions including specifications contract development payroll auditing civil rights DBE goal compliance bid monitoring custom reporting and contract administration.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operating with minimal supervision and significant autonomy this specialist plays a pivotal role in technical and project management decision-making ensuring that system configurations align with business needs while mitigating risks that could impact agency-critical information systems
  • Applybest practices in software development system administration and process optimization the specialist ensures that AWP remains stable scalable and secure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine system functionality troubleshoot complex issues and implement enhancements that improve efficiency and compliance
  • Strong leadership technical expertise and strategic vision to drive successful project execution and system reliability

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development

OR

Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development

OR

High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
