JOB SUMMARY
Program Instructors are responsible for planning organizing and conducting instructional lessons for classes in assigned recreation programs. Instructors for these programs teach or instruct a variety of activities which may include: homework help active games music dance arts and crafts fitness and various other recreational educational and cultural enrichment areas. Develops course objectives and class plans scheduling class times obtains necessary supplies and equipment and resources. A high level of independent judgment is necessary.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Program Instructors receive supervision from the Recreation Coordinator(s). Direction may be provided by the Recreation Specialist.
SUPERVISOR DUTIES
Directly supervises class participants.ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS--Essential responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
May perform CPR or AED as needed if certified.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must successfully complete a background check including but not limited to a criminal history search.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions:
Frequent exposure to heat cold and wet/humid conditions. Continual field work. Moderate mental effort is required. Daily moderate mental pressure exists due to exposure to interpersonal conflicts.
Physical Conditions:
Regularly: Stand walk sit manually manipulate reach outward reach above shoulder bend and lift up to 25 pounds. Must have the ability to speak clearly understand others and be understood. The employee must be able to see close up and at a distance with vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision.
Occasionally: Climb crawl squat kneel
Rarely: Lift up to 50 lbs.
