The Truck Driver Training Program Coordinator position will work under minimal instruction/supervision within the guidelines established by the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance. The coordinators duties will include program development teaching courses designing and developing curriculum providing a systematic plan for delivering instruction evaluating student performance advising students and mentoring instructors. Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements all required documentation and administrative reports. Also assists with student recruitment retention and job placement efforts.
This position requires an associate degree in Transportation Management or Business Technology or a closely related field plus a minimum of three (3) years proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience or a high school diploma and five (5) years of proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience to include training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
All applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; hold a valid South Carolina Commercial Drivers License with all necessary endorsements for the motor vehicle equipment being operated; have at least three (3) years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience and have logged at least 100000 miles of over-the-road truck driving; or have completed a certified truck driver training school. Preferred candidates with a high school diploma will have a minimumoften (10) years of proven behind-the-wheel truck driving experience to include training and assisting students in developing the skills necessary to obtain a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Each applicant must provide a certified SLED criminal background check have a clean driving record possess a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification and pass a drug screen in addition to all the South Carolina Code of Regulations Chapter 90 Article 2 Truck Driver Schools.
