Job Description

As a Mortgage Underwriter with Banner Bank you will apply the underwriting standards adopted by the Board of Directors Investors Agencies and all regulatory and/or policy requirements.

In this role youll have the opportunity to:

    • Responsible for underwriting residential loan applications to ensure compliance with Investors Banner Bank Portfolio all secondary marketing conduits and private mortgage insurance companies.
    • Facilitate and support all loan production staff in matters of residential underwriting.
    • Assist loan officers and processors with origination of complex and/or problematic loans.
    • Responsible for complying with policies procedures security requirements and government regulations.

Education & Certifications

    • H.S. Diploma: required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

Experience

    • 4 or more years of experience in mortgage underwriting required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    • Intermediate knowledge of 1-4 family loan underwriting guidelines including all loan types/programs.
    • Possess strong organizational written and verbal communication and customer service skills with the ability to work within defined timeframes and make deadlines.
    • Proficient in MS Office products including Word and Excel.
    • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to underwriting.
