Job Purpose
The Environmental Services and Laundry Manager works closely with the Environmental Services and Laundry Director to help manage daily activities for assigned employees in the department. The Manager provides guidance and standards to the Environmental Services and Laundry staff to ensure department and hospital expectations and standards are being met to meet the needs of our patients their families and our staff by providing a clean safe environment.
Work Schedule
This is a salaried position with the expectation of working Monday - Friday with the understanding that the position may need to assist or provide backup coverage outside of standard hours as needed and available.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duty
Percent of Time
Supervises and trains EVS and Laundry staff and organizes daily schedules and tasks to provide appropriate services to patients and staff

Ensures that EVS and Laundry staff follow all established infection control policies and procedures

Coach laundry or EVS staff with instructions advice or guidance when needed including corrective action and performance appraisals.

Serve as liaison to other departments in the evening (namely nursing) for their EVS and laundry needs

Provides back-up coverage to Laundry or EVS staff as needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
High School graduate or GED required.
Ability to understand read and write English required.
Experience:
3 years of Environmental Services or Laundry.
1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
At least one year of healthcare preferred.
License/Certification/Credential:
None required.
