Job Description
Quality InspectorDo you enjoy a fast-paced job where you can move around all day Do you hate sitting at a desk Do you want overtime hours If you answered yes to these questions this is the job for you!Our client in Fall River is looking for a quality inspector with micrometer and inspection experience. You will be working in an electropolishing job shop where you will have the final responsibility for cleanliness adherence to customer specification (visual and dimensional) packaging and quantity verification of finished items.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect finished goods for conformance to requirement defined in work instructions inspection plans quality assurance procedures and/or other documents
- Identify non-conforming products based on visual and dimensional inspection criteria
- Visually inspect products under a microscope
- Maintain and record accurate counts of inspected parts including non-conforming parts.
- Calculate material removal using digital micrometers
- Document inspection results
- Clean finished items
- Package finished items in accordance with customer specifications
- Prepare boxes for shipment and transport in-process work between departments
- Monitor equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and recommend maintenance and repair
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards
- Read and comprehend written inspection criteria in English
- Accurately document and evaluate inspection results using a digital micrometer
- Maintain and record accurate counts of inspected items
- Use hand carts to move material and pull fully loaded pallet jacks
- Use micrometers to generate accurate readings
- Calculate material removal and evaluate dimensional acceptance of finished goods
- Use microscopes gages and other QC tools
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to lift 40 Ibs. Safely without assistance or difficulty
- Ability to climb stairs reach and twist as needed
- Ability to remain on feet continuously throughout the workday
- Frequently stand and walk
- Frequent use of hands and arms
- Use rotating forearm and wrist movements
- Climb balance stoop kneel crouch and crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without assistance
- Minimum 20:20 vision with or without corrective lenses and the ability to see green
- High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience in an inspection department
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to the risk of electric shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
- Full time (Temp to hire after 45-90 days)
- First shift
- 40 hours/week after training period
- Frequent overtime
- $19-$20.50 per hour depending on previous professional experience (including experience with micrometers)
