You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are looking for a technically focused engineer with experience in hydraulic modelling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for complex hydraulic systems particularly for hydropower and pumped storage applications. The role focuses on understanding energy losses transient flow regimes and water level impacts using tools like ECRAS and Flow3D.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct CFD modelling of hydraulic structures (intakes tunnels surge chambers etc.)
Analyse energy dissipation head losses and flow transitions across operating modes
Model head/tailwater level interactions during generation and pumping cycles
Support physical modelling teams with numerical pre-analysis and post-validation
Optimise hydraulic performance through scenario testing and flow tuning
Produce high-quality technical outputs visualisations and reporting
Qualifications :
Role Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Civil Hydraulic or Mechanical Engineering (Masters degree preferred)
Minimum of 8 years experience in hydraulic system modelling including pumped storage or hydropower
Strong proficiency in CFD tools such as Flow3D OpenFOAM or ANSYS Fluent
Experience with ECRAS HEC-RAS or similar for energy and water level analysis
Solid understanding of turbulent flow flow transitions and energy loss mechanisms
Ability to work with and interpret physical model results for calibration and validation
Strong reporting communication and visualisation skills for technical and non-technical audiences
