We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in a full-performance level role focused on protecting environmental and public health. This position involves conducting inspections investigations evaluations and educational outreach related to environmental and public health sanitation. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with sanitation laws and promoting health and safety standards within the community.
Work involves significant public interaction and requires considerable travel across assigned areas. This is a field-based position with a balance of independent decision-making and adherence to established laws regulations policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform on-site inspections of facilities and environments to assess compliance with public health sanitation standards.
Investigate complaints or potential violations and recommend corrective actions.
Deliver community education and outreach regarding environmental and public health practices.
Prepare detailed reports documentation and recommendations based on findings.
Collaborate with agencies businesses and individuals to promote public health goals.
Continue participation in an ongoing sanitation training program to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
This position operates under general supervision with the ability to exercise some independent judgment within defined parameters. Candidates should be comfortable interpreting and applying guidelines and regulations to a variety of field scenarios.
This position requires regular travel and frequent contact with the public. Flexibility professionalism and strong communication skills are essential.

Training:Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience:One (1) year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a sanitarian.
Special Requirements:Must be permitted as a sanitarian-in-training or certified as a sanitarian with the West Virginia State Board of Sanitarians or be eligible to be permitted or certified with the Board per the Reciprocity section of thePractice of Public Health Sanitation W. Va. Code R. 20-4-4et seq. Must possess a valid drivers license. Availability of an automobile for continuous use may be a requisite for employment.
