Job Description
Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Proposal Manager based in Round Rock TX or Houston this highly visible role you will be responsible for coordinating the technical and commercial aspects of proposals including cross-Business Unit and multiWorld Area pursuits. You will have the flexibility to work away from the office one day a week.
- Independently develop proposal planning and scheduling details
- Lead proposal teams comprised of Operations Sales and Industry members to complete proposal on time
- Collaborate on medium to high complexity proposal estimates and documents based on customers RFQ
- Lead the development of proposals with or without subject matter experts
- Be accountable for proposal assembly
- Participate in process improvements
- Prepare responses to technical and commercial clarifications using internal technical resources as needed
- Mentor other proposal resources in the development of proposals and following proposal process
You tackle difficult issues with optimism and confidence. You actively seek input from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions. You manage the risk that comes with moving forward when the outcome isnt certain. You find common ground and drive things to consensus ensuring that all feel heard. You pick up on the need to change personal interpersonal and leadership behavior quickly.
- Bachelors degree
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite of tools: Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Effective people management and team leadership skills
- Be able to coordinate more than one proposal effort simultaneously through the effective use of team resources
- Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
- BS in Engineering or Technical Subject area
- Knowledge in process control and safety systems applications and interfaces
- Knowledgeable in field instrumentation metering control and automated valves and bus technologies
