Creighton University founded in 1878 main campus is in Omaha Nebraska. We are a comprehensive Jesuit University that educates over 8000 students. Our nine (9) colleges and schools offer over 140 programs including arts and sciences business administration law medicine nursing pharmacy occupational therapy physical therapy dentistry and graduate studies. Creighton employs over 2000 people making it one of the largest employers in the Omaha community.
Job Summary:
Our Finance professionals are critical to the universitys success. Under the guidance of the Director the Financial Analyst will conduct and document moderate to complex financial analysis projects developing partnerships across the University.
The ideal candidate would be an Accounting or Finance graduate with a couple of years of work experience. A stellar new graduate would also be considered if interested in gaining experience in the finance function of a mission-driven higher education organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Complete analysis of financial data including performance to budget evaluation of expenditure categories and review of trends.
- Assists in preparation of annual quarterly and monthly financial and operational reporting.
- Collaborate on ad-hoc analytical projects to gain insights and optimize resources.
- Active participation in the annual operating budget forecasting gift utilization and operating requests.
- Participate in development opportunities and process improvement projects as a member of the Finance organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related area.
- 1-4 years of finance accounting analysis or related experience.
- Knowledge of business principles and accounting operations.
- Efficiently manage time and workload on a variety of tasks reporting and projects.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse customer personalities backgrounds and possibly conflicting goals or agendas.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and mindfulness; able to communicate financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Understands and embodies the Creighton vision and mission. Follows and understands the core values employee standards of behavior and company policies and procedures.
