About the Role

As a Senior Security Engineer - PAM at Thermo Fisher Scientific Frederick youll play a key role in crafting our PAM strategy driving global transformation.

Position Overview

In this role you will serve as the main authority on PAM initiatives coordinating objectives as a driving force of spirit for the team. You will mentor team members represent PAM initiatives across multi-functional projects and challenge existing practices to drive cultural change.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic PAM Leadership & SME Functions

  • Own and drive PAM strategy for enterprise-wide privileged access domains
  • Serve as primary SME for PAM tooling optimization and secrets hardening
  • Develop and implement annual PAM objectives aligned with organizational goals
  • Lead multi-functional PAM initiatives and represent the team in enterprise-wide projects
  • Embody team strategy development for PAM functional areas

Transformation & Organizational Change

  • Function as an internal PAM transformation consultant
  • Challenge existing paradigms around secrets management
  • Develop strategic leverage points to drive adoption of PAM procedures
  • Build compelling arguments for PAM investments
  • Design strategies to overcome project resistance

Technical Operations & Automation

  • Architect and implement PAM solutions
  • Implement telemetry to evaluate PAM program efficiency
  • Craft and maintain enterprise-level privileged access controls
  • Drive automation initiatives for PAM tasks and compliance reporting
  • Lead comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Train and mentor team members on standard methodologies for PAM
  • Lead team operations during leadership absence
  • Evaluate and challenge PAM initiatives and projects
  • Provide technical mentorship to peers and junior staff

Communication & Collaborator Management

  • Simplify PAM concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Develop and present PAM materials to executive leadership
  • Build strong multi-functional relationships across IT and business units
  • Proactively communicate PAM posture updates

Required Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity Information Technology or related field
  • PAM certifications required: CyberArk Certified Delivery Engineer BeyondTrust Certified Professional
  • Additional security certifications preferred: CISSP CISM GSEC

Experience

  • 6 years of enterprise security experience passionate about PAM
  • 4 years of hands-on PAM operations experience in large-scale environments
  • 3 years of demonstrated leadership in PAM implementations
  • Proven track record of driving PAM process improvements

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of PAM principles and frameworks
  • Proficiency in PAM platforms and automation
  • Experience with directory services and identity management
  • Ability to architect tool-agnostic PAM solutions
  • Experience with cloud PAM and DevOps integration

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $143000.00$214475.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company team and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on which includes:
