The College of Arts & Sciences Office of Faculty Actions (OFA) provides essential support to 700 full time faculty members as well as many part-time teaching faculty and academic researchers throughout their careers at Boston University. From hiring and orientation through retirement OFA supports all aspects of the faculty life cycle including professional development tenure promotion sabbatical and leaves of absence. OFA liaises with departments on all faculty affairs matters and provides advice to individual faculty members working closely in tandem with four associate deans for the faculty the Dean of CAS and the CAS Business Office. OFA believes that our intellectual and administrative progress depends on the collaboration of diverse individuals from multiple communities. We are currently seeking a Tenure & Promotion Administrator to join our dynamic and fast-paced office. Tenure & Promotion Administrator Description Reporting to the Director of Faculty Actions in the College of Arts & Sciences the Tenure & Promotion Administrator independently manages the tenure and promotion process for all professorial faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Tenure & Promotion Administrator liaises with departments to ensure all professorial faculty tenure and/or promotion cases are being reviewed according to college and university policies and procedures. The Tenure & Promotion Administrator supports the college level process working closely with the CAS Appointment Promotion and Tenure (APT) committee and the Dean of CAS during their review stages. The Tenure & Promotion Administrator is responsible for keeping information about tenure & promotion up to date and for maintaining records related to that process. This position also manages the promotion process for full-time Lecturers in the College of Arts and Sciences and the mid-tenure review process for Assistant Professors.
