Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Theatre

Including:

  • Main Theatre
  • Ophthalmology
  • Day Procedure Unit

Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Permanent

Candidate Criteria:

Qualifications

Registered nurse/midwife on the active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland

Confirm annual registration with NMBI

Postgraduate course or relevant educational course (Desirable)

Management Qualification (Desirable)

Experience

Must have 3 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting in the last 5 years.

With at least one of those years being within the specialty or related area.

Have the clinical managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.

Experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable)

Preceptorship experience (Desirable)

The Purpose of This Role:

As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) Theatre you will play a vital role in leading and delivering exceptional patient care within the surgical environment. Your expertise will ensure that every patient receives safe efficient and high-quality care during surgical procedures. You will also be instrumental in supporting and developing the nursing team to maintain the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the co-ordination assessment planning implementation and review of care for patients according to BSHS standards in conjunction with the CNMII.

Provide clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team in the theatre.

Ensure the highest standards of patient care are delivered safely and effectively.

Oversee the operational and clinical activities within the theatre ensuring smooth workflows.

Support and mentor nursing staff through in-service training and professional development.

Coordinate the orientation of new staff and provide guidance to student nurses.

Maintain compliance with safety protocols policies and best practices in surgical care.

Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
