The Underwriting Operations Manager will provide underwriting and pricing guidance for small group Life LTD STD Dental Vision Accident Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity pre-sale opportunities. The Underwriting Operations Manager will also lead the RFP triage and intake process for all proposal requests.
Key Job Responsibilities
Manages the underwriting operations team responsible for analyses of pre-sale small group prospects while providing underwriting support for large case opportunities.
Manages team responsible for case triage and initial intake.
Manages daily inventory ensuring timely case assignment and completion of all tasks.
Works with the distribution team to address appeals negotiations and escalations.
Guides and assists underwriting operations analysts with new business quotes by analyzing the requested plan designs pricing and risk.
Provides underwriting analysts with real time coaching training and feedback on quoting opportunities to ensure accuracy.
Assists in managing offshore team to ensure specified metrics are achieved.
Participates in AI model engagement and with cross-functional teams.
Performs other duties as assigned or required
The base salary range for this position is $70000 - $85000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills experience and geographical addition to base pay Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases spot bonuses and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications
5 years of relevant employee benefit underwriting experience.
Ability to effectively manage across cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High level of adaptability and capability working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree is highly preferred.
Preferred candidate should have a minimum of two years experience in people leadership.
