The part-time WAE-Media/Broadcast Engineer position works with the Office of Student Media for the Manship School of Mass Communication. This position supports the equipment and maintenance for core radio and tv infrastructure station automation systems studios control rooms post-production including podcasting studio and Sony ENG equipment. Implements technology strategy both short and long term to enhance on-air and digital workflows. Plans systems wide upgrades and oversees the installation and integration of new technology.
Job Responsibilities:
Operational: Oversee and support operations equipment integration and maintenance for core radio and tv infrastructure station automation systems studios control rooms facilities post-production including podcasting studio and Sony ENG equipment. Familiar with Panasonic robotic camera systems and live streaming solutions. 45%
Automation Systems: Manage and optimize automation and playout systems for FM on-air broadcast and television production control rooms and news production/playout.30%
Technology Strategy: Develop and implement short- and long-term technology strategies to enhance both on-air and digital workflows. Lead development and implementation of future technologies.10%
Project Management: Plan system wide upgrades. This includes project design installation and integration of new technology. 10%

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Broadcast Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Degree Substitute: LSU values skills experience and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to applya degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
Specific Experience - working with audio and video equipment troubleshooting technical issues during broadcasts and maintaining broadcast systems.
Additional Requirements:
Operation Essential Personnel - This position may be asked to work during an official closure but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety resources and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
Additional Information: Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
