What You Will Be Doing
The State of Alaska Department of Administration Division of Finance is seeking an experienced Senior HRIS Analyst / Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in supporting Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) in a government organization and proven ability to work collaboratively with human resource and payroll business stakeholders and technical teams.

Who We Are Looking For
We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:
Six years of computer programming experience of which at least two years were at the project leader or systems design level. This is equivalent to an Analyst/Programmer 4 with the State of Alaska. Two years of experience must have been in a business application scientific application microcomputer or computer information management support specialty. The specialized experience may be gained concurrently.
Substitution:
A bachelors degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience. An associates degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience in a specialty area. There is no substitute for the systems analysis and design or project leadership experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.
For some positions in these job classes a background investigation including fingerprinting is required.
