Position Summary Bancroft School Seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to join its marketing and communications team as Director of Marketing & Communications. Reporting to the Head of School and a member of the Senior Administrative team this key community member oversees and champions all marketing communications and branding for the School. Working across various departments most notably Advancement Admissions Academics and Athletics this position serves in many capacities to advance the mission and the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the Administrative Team to build and execute a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for the school community.
- In collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Management plan and execute marketing strategies for enrollment management and new student recruitment.
- In collaboration with the Director of Advancement use various media and market tools to support the efforts of the Bancroft Fund various alumni engagement activities and the capital campaign.
- Partner with the Head of School and Division Heads to ensure that faculty and students academic excellence and extracurricular activities are communicated to a broad range of constituencies in a manner that supports the Schools marketing strategy.
- Supervise departmental staff.
- Provide oversight of all external print and audio/visual media; maintain branding guidelines and editorial style guide including working to ensure the strategic value and timely publishing of Shorelines and the Bancroft Bulletin.
- Various writing and editing projects on behalf of the School.
- Ensure the updating and accuracy of the Schools website.
- Develop a social media strategy that effectively publicizes all aspects of the Schools life.
Preferred qualifications:
- A Bachelors Degree in communications marketing journalism or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic communications and marketing preferably in an academic institution.
- Excellent writing editorial and storytelling skills.
- Intuitive tech-oriented and a self-starter.
- A basic knowledge of the Worcester County school market.
- Experience working with vendors and agencies in brand management and marketing campaigns.
- Experience managing departmental finances/budget.
- A creative collaborative thinker who thrives in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Strong digital fluency with experience managing websites CRM systems school communication technologies and databases and digital marketing tools.
