POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Support Manager plays a critical role in supporting Marlens global business strategy by leading a team that facilitates the sales process for both existing and prospective customers. Based in our Riverside MO office this position works closely with Product and Regional Sales Managers to support the sale of capital equipment to the food processing industry. The role also oversees the Customer Solution Center and ensures the successful execution of customer demonstrations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a team of 45 sales support professionals.
  • Oversee the Customer Solution Center ensuring a high-quality experience for visiting customers.
  • Coordinate with Sales Engineering and Customer teams to support sales activities and demonstrations.
  • Serve as the primary Salesforce administrator for Marlen.
  • Plan and execute customer demos including equipment operation cleaning and training.
  • Prepare customer quotations perform margin analysis and maintain sales documentation.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as order entry and participation in order review meetings.
  • Gather and share market intelligence to support product management and strategic planning.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in sales support or customer service preferably in capital equipment or manufacturing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Syteline Microsoft Teams and AutoCAD is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional demeanor and integrity
  • Travel requirement: Less than 10%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular communication standing sitting walking and reaching
  • Occasionally lift/move objects up to 50 lbs
  • Work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Occasional travel by car or plane

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment for this position is a combination of office and light industrial; the noise levels can vary between low and moderate. The offices of Marlen are climate controlled; however temperatures can be hot or cold in manufacturing and the solution center.
