Strategic Planner

The Tilhqotin National Government (TNG) is the official First Nations government serving the Tilhqotin Nation. TNG is located in Williams Lake British Columbia and serves six communities including Esdilagh Tideldel Yuneitin Tletinqox Xeni Gwetin and Tlesqox.
The Strategic Planner will work closely with the Tilhqotin Healing and Wellness Centre Project Manager and the Tilhqotin National Government Health department. The Strategic Planner will be skilled in planning conducting needs assessments and aligning initiatives with Indigenous self-governing goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the cultural spiritual and health priorities of First Nations communities
- Facilitate respectful engagement sessions with Elders community members and stakeholders to ensure strategies are community-driven and aligned with Tilhqotin culture
- Incorporate Indigenous ways of knowing and being into planning processes
- Evaluate emerging trends in Indigenous health and wellness to guide strategic direction
- Provide regular reporting and make recommendations for improvement based on measurable outcomes and community feedback
- Identify funding opportunities and ensure alignment of strategic plans with grant and policy requirements
- Collaborate with leadership and program managers to support operational planning governance initiatives and capacity building
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Planning Health Administration Social Work Business Administration or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
- Project management training or certification (e.g. PMP) is considered an asset
- Experience in strategic planning community health planning or organizational development
- Experience working with First Nations communities and/ or organizations is an asset
- Proficiency in MS suite MS Word MS Excel etc.
- Knowledge of land-based healing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems and health care best practices
- Valid class 5 drivers License
Working Conditions
- Travel will be required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
