The McKinney-Vento Program is responsible for determining eligibility for students and their families who are living in temporary housing and ensures eligible students receive
educational and supportive services in which they are entitled.
Job Duties: The Family Outreach Specialist (FOS) for Early Learners will work closely with the program coordinator to develop and implement the best practices and strategies to provide services to support McKinney-Vento families with children who are 0-5 years old and not enrolled in early childhood programs.
This is a temporary part-time position and continued employment past June 30 2026 is
based upon grant funding received to operate the program. A typical work week will average between 4-7 hours dependent upon program needs. At certain times of the year additional hours may be required but not to exceed 29 hours per week. This position is not eligible for any benefits. The person holding this position will not be paid when schools are closed for inclement weather holidays or academic breaks.
The ideal candidate must have a masters degree in Family and Child Development or similar human services discipline with a focus on early childhood learning. Experience working with community organizations and non-profits to assist in navigating resources and making referrals is a must. The ideal candidate may also have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience working with families and children aged 0-5 years old.
The rate of pay for this position is $ 40.00 per hour.
