Days (United States of America)We are seeking a skilled detail-oriented and compassionate Allergy Nurse to join our allergy team. The Allergy Nurse will support physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and immunologic conditions including administering immunotherapy performing diagnostic testing educating patients and compounding allergy extracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform allergy testing procedures including skin prick and intradermal.
Administer allergy immunotherapy and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Compound allergy extract prescription sets accurately according to provider protocols and safety standards.
Prepare and maintain allergen dilution boards ensuring proper dilution labeling and expiration tracking.
Educate patients and families on allergic conditions medication use environmental controls and immunotherapy compliance.
Maintain strict compliance with clinical safety protocols especially in handling and mixing allergen extracts.
Document all patient interactions testing and treatments in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Monitor and manage inventory of allergy testing and injection supplies including extract components and mixing materials.
Participate in staff training quality assurance and continuing education activities.
Under the direction of a Licensed Professional (e.g. Physician or Nurse Practitioner) the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment identifying and determining the priority of patients problems/needs and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The LPN coordinates provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members. The LPN complies to all documentation standards within the scope of the Medical Assistant and the LPN role.
Essential Job Functions
Analyzes the assessment data evaluates patients condition and collaborates with the provider to develop and maintain the patients plan of care.
Provides education to patients families and staff members in conjunction with other healthcare entities under the direction of the provider or manager.
Coordinates the care of the patient with other healthcare entities according to the patients plan of care.
Administers medications in a safe manner which is consistent with the organizations policies and procedures as well as the state requirements with which they are licensed in.
LPNs in a lead position serve as subject matter experts and clinical and professional mentors within the practice.

Licensing/Certification
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the state of employment or LPN applicant (required)
BLS certification is preferred upon hire and required within 30 days and/or prior to independent patient care

Work Experience
1 year of clinical patient care experience (preferred)
Training
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred)
