Incumbents will ensure standardized cross-plant compliance with approvedengineering standards and specifications in the effort toprovide documented sound engineering practices in the application of fundamental engineering design tasks. The Engineering Supervisor is a core team member of the divisions Technical Standards CommitteerepresentingOperations interests and is expectedto provideinput / guidance in the development or modification of engineering guide specifications. The successful candidate will be expected proactively engage with other supporting groups and teams within WTD including Management of Change (MOC) Process Safety Management (PSM) and Life Safety Management (LSM) teamsin the evaluative analysis and approval ofengineeringproposals. Job Duties
What You Will Be Doing:
Perform the full scope of supervisory responsibilities forWTDOperationsmulti-disciplinaryEast-Section Plant Engineering Team. Stakeholders may include several subordinate teams or organizational units which may require training regular feedback and flexible resource scheduling.
Leada diverse group ofengineering experts on multiple projects across plant process systems ensuring unified alignment with established standardsand specifications. Provide technicalexpertisein the evaluation and analysis of complex (multi-dimensional) sensitive and political issues. Provide lead oversight and quality control formultipleengineering disciplines.
Perform complex work involving wastewater treatment and collections systemsincluding:commissioning project management program design economic analysis and the preparation review and approval of design and contract documents.
Participatewith project design teams to promote Reliability Plant or Systems Design concepts in coordination with Maintenance Supervisors. Coordinate with capital stakeholders and make recommendations for equipment processes and software/hardware options.
Working with capital stakeholders represent O&Ms interests in the consistent standardized approach in the development update and usage of Auto-CAD and Engineering Content Management (ECMS) systems.
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Qualifications You Must Bring:
- Bachelor of Science degree in one or more engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated experienceand knowledge in supervisingpeople and/ormanagingprogram(s) in direct support of enhancing engineering coverage or engineering support elements in a large organization.
- Knowledge of engineering techniques and principles including demonstrated skills in applying engineering design/build solutions to address critical problems.
- Proven ability to communicate / present technical information to non-technical audiences to enable data-driven business decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including other engineering groups within a large industrial organization.
- Washington State Drivers License or the ability to provide transportation to remote work locations

- Valid Washington State recognized Professional Engineering (PE) license
Supplemental Information
- Work Location: Remote/Onsite South Wastewater Treatment Plant - 1200 Monster Rd SW Renton WA 98057 USA for the first (6) months with the option of migrating to a hybrid work schedule (not to exceed 50% remote) depending on business needs
- Hybrid/Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements. If allowed to work hybrid after the first (6) months you will be expected to be onsite at least 2 or more days a week depending on business needs.
- Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: This position is represented by Local 117-WTD Supervisors
- TLT/SDADuration:This recruitmentaimsto fill (1) Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) positionwithananticipatedduration of 1 year. Ifthe position is filled by a King County employee who has successfully completed theirinitialprobation they will be offered the role as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA).
