The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior comprehensive primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents. We have a special commitment to the uninsured low-income and medically underserved. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) we are a safety net provider. To support our mission FHS offers four conveniently located clinics in Fairfield Vacaville and Vallejo and mobile medical and dental vans in which we provide primary care and dental services. The outpatient primary care clinics see patients five days a week with some weekend and evening hours are committed to improving the quality of life locally by providing exceptional medical services tracking and preventing the spread of disease and promoting health and safety through education and communication.

THE POSITIONDentists provide dental services to patients at various County clinics. This class is distinguished from the class of Dentist Manager in that the latter manages the County-wide dental health program.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEducation/Experience:Considerable experience in dentistry coupled with additional experience and education or training in public health services which demonstrates possession of requisite knowledge competency and ability. Typical qualifying experience would be:
- One year experience in the practice of dentistry in a public agency or private practice.
Licensure:
- Possession of a valid and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California issued by the Board of Dental Examiners.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California Drivers License may be required.

All candidates must submit a copy of their license to practice dentistry in the State of California issued by the Board of Dental Examiners by the final filing deadline. Candidates who fail to submit their license by the application review datewill be disqualified from the recruitment.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Candidates who attended a college or university that is accredited by a foreign or non-U.S. accrediting agency must have their educational units evaluated by an educational evaluation service. VETERANS PREFERENCE POINTS
To be eligible applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214 SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4) MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE APPLICATION REVIEW DEADLINE. Applicants who have a service-connected disability must also submit a recent award letter from the VA stating they are receiving disability benefits for service-connected reasons.
Veteran applicants for initial County employment with an honorable or general under conditions discharge shall receive five (5) points added to their combined score. Disabled veterans rated at not less than 30% disability shall have ten (10) points added to their combined score.
