Our mission is to enrich communities and enhance the ability of individuals and families to improve their you a collaborative leader passionate about shaping the future of behavioral health services for children and families As Director of our Child Youth and Family Services division youll play a vital role in guiding programs that support our Childrens Home and Community Based Services and School Based Services. Youll also contribute to the development and implementation of new programs that expand our reach and reinforce our mission at NKHS:NKHS is a 501(c)(3) private not-for-profit organization operating with the purpose of promoting high quality comprehensive community mental health programs in Vermonts beautiful Northeast Kingdom. Our mission is to empower individuals families and communities by promoting hope healing and support. NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities children and youth with serious emotional disabilities and adults with mental health and substance use challenges. We serve the populations of Caledonia Essex and Orleans counties through a wide variety of targeted programs for individuals of all ages. NKHS has over 500 employees providing case management community and home supports residential care psychiatry medication management therapy vocational supports school based counseling emergency care and respite services. These services are provided annually to nearly 4000 of our local community members helping them overcome challenges and achieve health in mind body and spirit. Visit us at Check out Life in the NEK of VermontDuties & ResponsibilitiesProgram Management & Collaboration:Works in collaboration with Clinical Supervisors to support their clinical goals and staff needs in relation to operations training documentation and new initiatives for childrens servicesCoordinates with school districts Department of Children and Families (DCF) and other child-serving agencies to ensure seamless service deliveryService Coordination & Access:Responsible for effective operation of Same Day Access intake process for children and families seeking behavioral health servicesOversees referral processes and ensures appropriate placement of children in services ranging from outpatient therapy to intensive community supportsSupervision & Staff Development:Supervises staff both clinically and administratively including school-based clinicians community support workers and family support specialistsResponsible for developing and overseeing scheduling of staff coverage across multiple school and community sitesIdentifies human resource needs and with the direction of the Chief reviews applicant materials conducts interviews and makes selections for new staffEvaluates staff performance and effectiveness with appropriate documentation making recommendations and reports for individual and program enhancement funding and service plansDocumentation & Compliance:Reviews documentation of assigned direct service staff ensuring compliance with state regulations school requirements and funding source standardsFinancial Management:Assists in maintaining program budgeting and financial monitoring and adjustment to ensure administration of programs in a fiscally efficient mannerPerforms oversight of any State grant awards and contracts related to childrens servicesMaintains personal working knowledge of funding sources including Medicaid state grants and school-based service contractsDirect Service & Crisis Response:Provides coverage of direct service when needed including but not limited to meeting with children and families assessments treatment crisis intervention and safety planningMaintains on-call availability for crisis situations involving children and families served by the program or delegates as Development & Community Relations:Assists in planning and analyses for future design and development of childrens services and programsThis includes negotiation for services and funding grant writing and other activities to procure financing and community supportRequirementsMasters degree in an appropriate human services field (Social Work Psychology Education Child Development or related field).License in childrens behavioral health service delivery program planning coordination training and evaluation policy and budgetingMinimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role with direct supervision responsibilitiesBroad knowledge of childhood development trauma-informed care family systems and evidence-based treatment models for children and adolescentsUnderstanding of special education services IEP/504 plan development and school-based intervention strategiesKnowledge of home and community-based services and family support programsExperience with crisis intervention and safety planning for children and familiesSALARY & BENEFITSCompetitive Salary $75000 - $112500 depending upon education and experienceEducation reimbursements and loan repayment and dental insurance.403b retirement plan with Agency contribution and paid time off 12 sick days and 12 paid employee wellness programExceptional benefits package including low-cost medical and dental short-/long-term disability coverages life insurance AFLAC employee assistance program and additional optional benefitsNortheast Kingdom Human Services is an equal opportunity at will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age race religion color disability sex sexual orientation or national origin.
