HealthPartners is currently hiring for a part-time LPN/CMA/RMA at the Apple Valley clinic.
The required qualifications for the LPN position include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American HeartAssociation or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is notacceptable.
- Demonstratedverbal and written communication skills including appropriate use ofEnglish grammar and spelling.
- One year workingexperience as an LPN is preferred.
The LPN position responsibilities include:
- Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
- Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.
- Assist patients to achieve basic health care goals.
- Identify patient education needs provide instruction and refer appropriately.
- Document observations actions and patient outcomes.
- Provide safe accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and families.
- Recognize patients abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate assistance.
- Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs recognize and report variances.
- Teach techniques or provideinformation according to established program.
- Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each patients record.
- Appropriately communicateinformation to other members of the health care team.
- Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding the procedure and care.
- Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD.
- Assure patients rights to privacy safety and confidentiality.
- Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Serve as a catalyst in improving standards of LPN practice.
- Serve as a role model fortechnical conduct and practice.
- Provide support to professionaland technical staff.
- Solve problems appropriately seeking assistance from members of the healthcare team.
- Effect positive response from patients and other members of the healthcare team through interpersonal skills.
The required qualifications for the CMA/RMA position include:
- High School diploma or GED
- CurrentMedical AssistantCertification or Registration through AAMA or AMT
- CurrentBLS certification forhealth professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable
- Demonstrated verbal and writtencommunication skills including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling
- Demonstrated ability to functionwith multiple priorities and interruptions
Preferred:
- At least six months recent (withinthe last 3 years) experience in a direct patient care setting
- Computer skills
The CMA/RMA position responsibilities include:
- Room patients and complete vitalsigns and other pertinent physical measurements.
- Administer medication and clinicalprocedures according to authorized policy and documented according toHealthPartners policy. This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment.
- Review charts for the presence ofpertinent information relevant to the patients appointment. This may include Prepared Practice work as developed by the team.
- Provide and document any needed and requested health educational materials to the patient.
- Handle patient and their records in a private and confidential manner per HealthPartners policy.
- Seek medical and/or nursingassistance when encountering an acutely ill patient or a patient with achanging condition.
- Prepare exam rooms and treatment rooms and set up for procedures. Assist provider as needed.
- Prepare the patient for medicalinterventions.
- Prepare charts and records forappointments as indicated by the type of clinic visit according to established practices.
- Check MSRs for completion and route appropriately.
- Prepare lab x-ray and miscellaneous forms as requested
- Process drug refills according toclinic protocols
- Monitor station logs as assigned.
- Facilitate timely and accurate flow of communication within the clinic/location.
- Accurately receive and relay messages and test results to the appropriate person/location in a manner consistent with clinic practices and/or standards.
- Gather all necessary andappropriate information from a caller and relay information to theappropriate provider for necessary follow-up.
- Inform reception desk ofproviders schedule status and assist in coordination of urgent andnon-urgent provider schedule changes to ensure patient and provider needs are met.
- Perform patient correspondence when requested and assist patients in completing forms when appropriate.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to procedure and OSHA standards.
- Complete scheduled cleaningrequirements for designated work areas. Document completion of work tocomply with infection control and OSHA standards
- Implement other infection controlprocedures as needed and adhere to protective clothing requirements.
- Ensure clinic supplies areadequately stocked and well organized. Process and deliver department inventory requests in a timely manner. Routinely check expiration dates and remove or replace outdated supplies.
- Maintain prescription samplesupply cabinet as per clinic protocol
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and adequate records are kept. Ensure inventory ofinstruments and equipment is current. Ensure instruments and equipment are calibrated as needed and maintained in proper working order.
