Donations Specialist (Part-time: 29 hours per week)

By the Hand is a not for profit religious organization. Individuals employed at By the Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel teaching chapel leading Bible studies discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christs teaching.

Rate of Pay:$25-$28 per hour (Part-time: 29 hours per week)

Overview of Position

The Donations Specialist will support the Fund Development and Accounting Team reporting to the Chief Development Officer primarily by providing donation processing support and receipting.

• Participates in weekly team prayer and devotion.

• Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires.

• Works with leadership to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further the By The Hands religious purpose and religious freedom.

Role Responsibilities

• Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.

• Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.

• Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.

• Participates in employee growth plans including a regular personal development plan meeting.

• Processes various types of donations via CRM (Raisers Edge/Salesforce).

• Ensure accuracy in gift amounts designations and donor information.
• Creates and sends receipts for donors (electronic and paper).

• Prepares donation export to the accounting system.

• Assists accountants with monthly reconcile of CRM to accounting system.
• Oversee the donation inbox and responds to requests from the Fund Development team and donors.
• Maintains Google drive support for all donations and works with auditor with regards to gift testing.
• Manages calendar year-end receipting with outside vendor.
• Support data integrity through regular audits and updates.

• Helps maintain the accuracy of the donor database (CRM).

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education

• An Associates degree in a business-related field.

• Prior experience with donation processing via Raisers Edge and/or Salesforce preferred.

• Experienced in writing professional emails and proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace including Forms Sheets Excel and Word.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopies filing cabinets and fax machines. This position does not work remotely.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment between rooms and/or locations and lift up to 50 pounds. Periodically has to travel to other organizational sites for meetings and training.
