Contract Type: Permanent Full time 35 hours

Salary: 40370 - 51553 depending on experience and qualifications plus 1300 essential car user allowance*

Reporting Office: Nexus House Trafford

Work Location: Across L&Q North West region

Persona: Agile Working (office home and site combined)

Fire Officer - Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Officer to join our existing Fire Safety Team within Property Services. The Fire Officer reports to the Building Safety Manager within Fire Safety. Providing a specialist fire safety management & risk assessment service across L&Q.

This is an incredibly worthwhile and rewarding role with an opportunity to make real difference to our residents and the local community. With fire safety of paramount importance our Fire Officers will conduct professional suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) in accordance with statutory requirements as required by a programme and/or in response to incidents on our residential buildings.

Candidates must be experienced in undertaking FRAs on all type of residential buildings including; High Rise/ Sheltered/Extra Care Schemes and Community Centres.

The role includes developing implementing and managing the L&Q procedures regarding fire safety management in buildings. Ensuring it is in-line with policy best practice regulatory and legislative requirements.

You will be a self-motivated professional individual who is able to provide high quality confidential and trustworthy customer focused service.

The Focus will be on providing high quality and confidential customer-focused service.

To be considered for this role candidates will demonstrate the following:

Candidates will need to have a valid driving licence and access to a car

Already have obtained or be willing to work towards a Professional Fire Accreditation.

Level 3/4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management

Knowledge and Experience working with Fire Safety legislation and regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

Extensive experience of undertaking FRAs in the residential sector

Understanding of fire compliance within a housing association or local authority

Knowledge of Approved Documents and Industry Guidance

Ability to be able to work as part of a team both in the office and dispersed

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to tailor communication for various internal and external stakeholders

Use of MS packages training would be given on the trust bespoke systems
