GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under direction of the Head of Upper School the Upper School Spanish teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing lessons for multiple levels of Spanish courses facilitating student language acquisition and conversational confidence through strategies that focus on providing comprehensible input. Qualified candidates will be able to create and provide an environment conducive to the intellectual physical social and emotional development of adolescents to ensure success for each student as well as monitor and evaluate academic outcomes. The teacher will also serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students and will supervise students in a variety of school-related settings. All Cape Henry Collegiate teachers are expected to communicate and interact with students parents staff and community in a manner that represents the mission and core values of the school.
The status of this listing is full-time but may be eligible for part-time status based on needs and is a one-year appointment. The appointment may be extended based on needs.

Plan and implement lessons that meet the curricular guidelines for the appropriate level of Spanish.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Spanish or a valid teaching credential from an accredited college or university or considerable relevant experience. Candidates with a masters degree and/or state teaching license will be given preferential treatment. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted in some areas.
