Fixed Term 12 months 22.8 hours per week

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ngala is seeking a committed and capable Project Officer Child Safeguarding to lead the implementation of key initiatives that strengthen our child safeguarding practices. This role will be pivotal in embedding National Principles for Child Safe Organisations across Ngala.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading a project with purpose: Plan implement and monitor a detailed roadmap to operationalise the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations
  • Policy & practice championing: Review and develop policies procedures and guidelines aligned with best practice and legal requirementsand support their rollout across the organisation.
  • Build capacity & spark learning: Create and deliver engaging training programs and workshops that drive awareness and action.
  • Be the go-to expert: Respond to queries liaise with regulators and represent Ngala in conversations with external stakeholders.
  • Track progress & show impact: Design systems for monitoring compliance and reporting outcomes to leadership and the Board.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proactive people-focused and deeply committed to child safety.
  • Bring a strong understanding of the legislative landscape and a confident clear communication style to this vital work.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience in planning implementing and managing projects.
  • A thorough understanding of child safety protocols and legislation standards and protocols
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices.

The successful candidate will need to hold a current WA drivers licence and satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months and possess a working with childrens check.

As part of our commitment to being a Child Safe organisation successful candidates are required to provide their Immunisation History Statement. While immunisations are highly encouraged they are not mandatory. This information will help us assess and implement appropriate safety measures for everyone.
