About the Role

The Clarendon Community Mental Health managers role is of utmost importance. They are responsible for providing effective leadership and managing the Continuing Care Teams and other community-based programs at Clarendon Clinic. The managers duties also include ensuring that all key performance indicators are met and that exemplary service standards are maintained.

  • Provide clinical leadership and management expertise and manage the day-to-day operation of the multidisciplinary community teams and services
  • Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to develop and sustain strategies that enhance and improve service delivery and support the team.
  • Ensure all key performance indicators and activity-based funding targets are met
  • Develop and maintain linkages with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal continuity of care between community mental health services and other parts of the service and primary care services.
  • Identify service development gaps create development plans lead the change management processes and implement quality projects to enhance service delivery.
  • Participate in the on-call managers roster for the mental health service.

The classification for this role will be YC92 with an additional over award (total base salary approx. $137k per annum)

Your Contribution

  • Degree in a mental health discipline essential (Registered Nurse Division 1 or 3 Registered Clinical Psychologist Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) and registered with AHPRA or AASW as relevant.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in management or health administration or progress toward such qualifications desirable
  • Extensive experience of working in mental health services
  • Knowledge and experience of the mental health service system and Mental Health legislation in the Victorian context

  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or willing to obtain

About the Mental Health Service
St. Vincents Mental Health (SVMH) includes an adult area mental health service for the inner-city areas of Yarra and Boroondara. The adult mental health service components are Footbridge Community Care Unit (CCU) a 44-bed Acute Inpatient Service (AIS) located on the St. Vincents Hospital site the North Fitzroy PARC and two community mental health services (CMHS) at Hawthorn and East Melbourne (Clarendon CMHS) the community also comprises of the Primary Mental Health Team and STAY housing support. Community mental health services include the Community Acute Response Team (CART Triage and Crisis Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS) Extended Triage (ET) Emergency Department Mental Health (EDMH) PACER Police support and HOPE (Suicide Prevention). Other services include Continuing Care (CCT) Mobile Support and Treatment (MST) and Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) services. A Consultation & Liaison Service is provided to the health service. NEXUS Dual Diagnosis Service and the Body Image and Eating Disorders Assessment and Treatment Service (BETRS) are regional services. Statewide services are the Victorian Dual Disability Service and the Victorian Transcultural Mental Health. The Acute Inpatient Service includes five beds designated as the Koori Statewide Inpatient Service and linked to the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service.
