The Registered Nurse reports directly to the Director of Student Health and Wellness and supports the Director in creating a patient-focused quality-care health center and comprehensive wellness addition the registered nurse assists the Student Health Center with nursing care assists the Director with office administration laboratory responsibilities and secretarial duties.
This is a full-time 10-month yearly position.

Knowledge and experience with College policies and legal issues in higher education.

Ability to provide perspective and utilize a proactive style of leadership that encourages teamwork and interaction with students staff and faculty.
Excellent written and communication skills; Full competence in computer software packages for the office environment.
Knowledge of the organizational management of student affairs/health services including partnership building with students faculty staff parents and community.
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population and promote a campus climate of inclusion and participation by all students.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with complex and sometimes sensitive issues.
Commitment to the vision and values of the College.
Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships across campus; interact effectively and respectfully with students faculty staff and families to establish and maintain good working relationships.
Job Requirements:
Completion of a Registered Nurse program with a Bachelor of Science degree required preferably in Nursing.
Must have current Registered Nurse licensure and certification in Tennessee; preferred masters degree and certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant certifying bodies.
License and certification must be in good standing.
Five years of nursing experience required within a medical clinic setting is preferred.
CurrentCPR/AEDcertification required.
Current immunizations (Tdap M.M.R Meningococcal VaricellaTBST(TB Skin Test) and Flu Shot) and proof of professional liability insurance.
Knowledge and experience with Medicat Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Prior supervisory experience with nursing staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the Director of Student Health and Wellness in the clinical operations to deliver appropriate high-quality healthcare treatment and prevention services.
Provide primary nursing services to those seeking treatment or preventive health care using accurate written and verbal skills and patient education.
Administer flu shots and other injections for students and assist with physician/nurse practitioner appointments.
PerformCLIAwaived laboratory tests collect and prepare laboratory specimens for outside testing vital signs administer medications breathing treatments ear wash schedule appointments with specialists arrange for transportation for if necessary discharge students from the department).
Maintenance of all clinical and lab equipment along with data monitoring for compliance.
Responsible for knowledge ofOSHACLIAFERPAandHIPAAcompliance standards and regulations.
Follow up with students via email or phone to check their condition or to inform them of laboratory or other testing results.
Assist with supply stock center sanitation data gathering for departmental reports responding to campus emergencies as necessary and maintaining clients confidentiality.
Communicate effectively with staff parents students physicians and off-campus medical personnel to provide follow-up care and support to students.
Assist withimplementation submission and compliance of all student health forms.
Assist with appointment scheduling form preparation and communication management.
Work with the Dean of Students the Director of Student Health and Wellness and the Associate Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students to ensure student health implementation and compliance with college-mandated insurance policies.
Demonstrated use of diversity equity and inclusion approaches to clinical care.
Cover the front desk and other administrative duties when necessary.
Regular on-campus work is required in a high-paced setting.
Works collaboratively and cooperatively with the Director of Student Health and Wellness and provides outreach programming and training to the campus community. Contribute to a campus environment that facilitates students healthy growth and development.
Assist with health education outreach and programming for the campus community.
Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement workshops brochures and presentations to assist students faculty and staff in matters related to health education.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
