Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

The US Bacterial Medical Lead will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the development and execution of strategic medical and scientific activities related to the pneumococcal meningococcal Lyme TBE and vaccines.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This will include the following:

  • The leader will ensure the US medical affairs team has a robust understanding of the US vaccines landscape exceptional peer and KOL relationships and a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape.

  • Develop a Medical Affairs strategy for the US closely partnered with global medical strategy

  • Work with key external stakeholders including CDC medical societies and ACIP to ensure the broadest possible recommendation for vaccines.

  • The leader will also work with internal partners to leverage operational excellence in the US to ensure timely delivery of major clinical trials research collaborations RWE generation and core dissemination activities and continuous data generation.

  • Lead interactions and continue to strengthen appropriate partnership with key stakeholders within the US Commercial Business.

  • He/She is expected to build and maintain strong opinion leader relationships engaging in external collaborations in order to gain insight and to facilitate clinical development and life cycle plans and strategies..

  • Manage responsibly the USMA bacterial medical budget.

  • Provide input to clinical leaders on paradigm shifts in regional treatment and key competitor activity to guide clinical and commercial development plans in US.

  • Focus on patient experience and outcomes and bring the patient voice and perspective to internal strategies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical degree (M.D./D.O. or equivalent).

  • 5 years of pharmaceutical experience clinical executive leadership experience or experience as a US key opinion leader.

  • Possesses the ability to critically evaluate scientific/medical information; propose new concepts and innovative ideas to expand data generation plan.

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Experience in vaccines infectious diseases epidemiology and public health.

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and proven track record of delivering high quality within timelines.

  • Managed Care pharmaceutical industry and/or Quality Improvement.

  • Data Analytics and/or HEOR activities with demonstrated strong methodological skills (study design data analysis and interpretation) in health services research.

  • Demonstrated track record of high performance and excellence.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible prioritize multiple demands and effectively lead in a matrix organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience analyzing healthcare data.

  • Understanding of the complex business environment within the US healthcare system as well as emerging healthcare trends.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel 10-25%.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $242000.00 to $403400.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
