Role assignment is enrollment and student needs based across the elementary schools and middle school. This position requires travel between two buildings throughout the and tasks include:*Assist the ESL teachers to implement the MLE instructional program including working directly with English learners in small groups joining newcomers and/or emerging students in content area classes and/or working with students on a one-to-one basis; - work with individual students and small groups within the larger ESL classroom - prepare materials for MLE program as needed - work with individual students or small groups to help students access the classroom curriculum including translating illustrating using ESL manipulatives/materials pacing reading aloud and administering some assessments - assist classroom to push students to produce level-appropriate work independently or with minimal scaffolds - interventions such as phonemic awareness phonics foundational math and/or English language skills *Establish trusting relationships with English learners to support their acculturation and growth in all areas (academic social emotional); and - support students in specials or unstructured times as needed to support their transition and social/emotional needs - connect and learn about the students in small groups share with ESL and classroom teachers* Establish effective rapport with building educators to best meet their instructional objectives. - serve as a connection between the ESL classroom and the general education classrooms where you are supporting
