ABOUT YOU

Youre methodical hands-on and take pride in precision. Whether youre at the start of your laboratory career or progressing through grades with increasing technical responsibility you bring a strong sense of ownership and a drive to work with integrity. Youll be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment follows procedures rigorously and contributes to a safety-first culture.

Required skills and experience:

  • A levels/ONC in Chemistry or a related subject
  • Extensive experience in a laboratory setting
  • Degree/HNC in Chemistry or related field preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant computer skills for data input and results reporting
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Laboratory Technician youll work within an established shift structure carrying out the preparation analysis and reporting of chemical tests. Your responsibilities will grow in line with your technical grade with opportunities to develop advanced analytical skills conduct method validation lead on training and development and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Key activities:

  • Receive and process test items/samples
  • Prepare reagents standardise solutions and conduct chemical tests
  • Report results accurately and ensure full traceability of test data
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Participate in equipment calibration and quality control processes
  • Develop methods and document SOPs
  • Train and supervise junior staff
  • Liaise with clients out of hours
  • Represent the lab in safety initiatives and quality improvements
