Our Identity Security Cloud team is looking for a well-rounded Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a focus on backend-end development. A successful Senior SDETshould have excellent troubleshooting skills experience writingautomationtests creating extensive test cases and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. We are looking for someone capable of driving several projects to completion from a QA perspective and a skilled technician that can also serve as a mentor to the team.
Responsibilities include designingautomationtesting best practices quality standards & processes manual testing of backend applications assisting engineers in creation ofautomationtests and maintaining healthyautomationtesting pipelines. We are looking for a visionary that delivers recommendations on how to evolve testing best practices within the organization that solve todays problems with the future direction of product testing in mind.
Requirements or things you will learn on the job:
5 years of experience in quality engineering and experience in developing testautomationframework
Proficient inJava or GoLang and testing frameworks such asJunitTestNG Mockito
Experience in TypeScript / JavaScript preferred
Proficient in writing test cases for verification of web applications
Experience writing Contract tests with tools like Pact PostmanCypress
Experience with testing REST APIs in a microservice environment
Experience with AWS and testing SaaS applications
Familiarity with SQL and NonSQL data stores
Familiarity with observability tools such as Kibana and Datadog
Familiarity with setting up Synthetic monitoring or similar means of simulating user behavior on live services
Familiarity with Jenkins Cloudbees and CI/CD workflows
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience planning and executing multi-sprint tasks with experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
Self-starter Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
What success looks like in the role:
Within the first 30 days you will:
Onboard into your new role get familiar with our product offering and technology
Proactively meet peers and stakeholders set up your test and development environment
Familiarize with the test framework codes and understand how the automated tests run
Familiarize with the SailPoint SDLC and development tools and processes
By 90 days:
Assist in the maintenance of testing environments
Collaborate with backend engineers and engineering managers to develop best practices forautomationtesting
Monitor and analyze quality performance and the health of ourautomationtesting pipeline
Assist developers with testing issues and improving the teams knowledge inautomationtesting
Develop promote and maintain quality standards and quality control systems.
Assist in manual verification of full feature testing and ensuring quality across all supported devices
By 6 months:
Proactivelyhelpimprove quality methodologies within the organization to increase efficiency and work with other QA resources to form best practices for how to test our products
Assist in optimizing workflows and processes used in our CI/CD pipelines
Consistently lead code/design reviews & presentation
Estimate prioritize plan and coordinate testing activities
By 1 year:
Act as the subject matter expert in ISC quality
Coach and mentor to other junior engineers on the team
Influence beyond engineering occasionally with other internal groups or customers
Participate in planning sessions to gain knowledge of how to best create test plans for solutions designed
Suggest technologies that could help improve ISC quality
