Must meet district Teacher Assistant (TA) requirements
High school diploma or equivalent;
Highly Qualified status as required by No Child Left Behind and the Individuals with Disabilities ActAssociates Degree or have scored at least a 4 in math or reading and a 3 or better in writing on the WorkKeys test.
Ability to physically attend to student care needs including personal care diapering transfers to and from wheelchair tube feeding medication administration augmentative communication assistive technology devices and wheelchair mobility;
Ability to lift 50 pounds;
Provide support to students within general/special education school settings and the community;
Experience working with students with disabilities including but not limited to cognitive impairments autism and limited communication is preferred;
Ability to monitor and manage student behavior;
Ability to follow implement and document all aspects of Positive Behavior Intervention Plan;
Effective communication skills with a variety of staff members;
Ability to work with children in a caring nurturing manner;
Demonstrates flexibility teamwork organization and strong work ethic;
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
