General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Coordinator of Prospect Research supports University of North Floridas fundraising efforts by identifying and analyzing potential donors to advance philanthropic goals. Reporting to the Director of Prospect Research this role delivers strategic insights to fundraisers senior leadership and the University Development and Alumni Engagement team. The Prospect Researcher builds strong donor pipelines by uncovering major gift prospects assessing giving capacity and interests and producing detailed profiles briefings and wealth screenings.


Job Function:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

-Identify and qualify potential donors through proactive research data mining wealth screenings and analysis of existing databases and external resources. Support the development of a sustainable pipeline for major and leadership gift officers using research tools and resources such as iWave ResearchPoint LexisNexis LinkedIn SEC filings and Foundation Search.

-Produce detailed accurate and timely research profiles briefing documents and due diligence reports for use by frontline fundraisers senior executives and campaign leadership.

-Analyze donor trends wealth indicators and giving behavior to assess donor capacity affinity and inclination.

-Make strategic recommendations to development staff on donor engagement and solicitation strategies.

-Collaborate with the Prospect Management team to monitor and maintain major gift officer portfolios assist with prospect assignment and portfolio optimization.

-Maintain comprehensive and well-documented research records in the universitys CRM and donor database system (e.g. Raisers Edge NXT). Ensure data accuracy compliance with privacy laws and alignment with university data governance policies.

-Generate standard and custom reports on donor prospects portfolio performance and campaign readiness to guide strategy and measure impact.

-Serve as a resource to development officers by sharing research insights and best practices. Contribute to training sessions on research tools and donor strategy.

-Assist in the planning and execution of major fundraising campaigns and targeted fundraising initiatives by providing research support list generation and strategy recommendations.


Marginal Functions:

May represent the university on local system-wide or state committees.

During declared campus emergencies this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization ; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.
