Job Description
The Behavior Health PSR Provider plays a key role in assisting youth by providing essential socialization and coping skills necessary for successful functioning in their home and community. Through goal-directed support and solution-focused interventions this role is designed to address challenges related to behavioral health needs aiming to achieve the specific goals set forth in the childs treatment plan. This position involves multi-component services which include therapeutic interventions such as counseling as well as functional supports. The Behavior Health PSR Provider works to restore rehabilitate and support the childs/youths developmentally appropriate functioning ensuring their successful integration as an active productive member of their family and community. The goal is to minimize ongoing professional intervention by empowering the child/youth and their caregivers to maintain long-term stability and positive outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: List all essential job duties. - Assist individuals and families identify personal strengths and resources for positive change
- Help children/youth practice and apply coping strategies and interpersonal skills in community environments (e.g. school home work).
- Assist children/youth in responding effectively to triggers and preventing situations that lead to functional impairments.
- Establish trusting and meaningful 1:1 relationship with children youth and families
- Implement strategies that include planned activities structured environments and organized recreational and social activities
- Assist in implementing interventions outlined in the child/youthstreatment plan.
- Assist individuals and families identify personal strengths and resources
- Respond effectively to acts of aggression and depressive destructive or self-injurious behaviors
- Act as a resource for individuals and their families
- Complete written documentation in a timely manner
- Maintain on going communication with Team Leader and team
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to multi-task and complete submissions within the required timeframe
- Ability to navigate Electronic Record System
- Excellent time management skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to assess system and assist in creating new workflows as needed to streamline the billing submission processes
- Ability to work with others in a cooperative collaborative manner.
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong computer/technical skills and knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education and Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least18 years oldand have ahigh school diplomaorhigh school equivalency(State Education Commencement Credential preferred).
- A minimum oftwo years of experiencein childrens mental health addiction foster care or related human services.
- Or:
- A bachelors degree in social work Psychology or a related human services field.
- Or:
- A masters degree in social work Psychology or a related human services field.
