The department provides direct animal care and medical attention to animals involved in research while aiding PIs. The department also handles the procurement of all research animals at BU as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory organizations. Acronyms: ASC-Animal Science Center PI- Primary Investigator BSL Level- Bio Safety Level IACUC- Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. This role falls into ASCs business office operations by handling responsibilities related to animal procurement processes and supplies. Because of the research occurring in our facilities this role also handles facility security access for researchers in differing BSL Levels. The Animal Research Services division of NEIDL at Boston University is a team of administrative managerial technical and professional staff committed to the advancement of science in collaboration with the research community by promoting the humane care and use of animals used in biomedical research and teaching.
High school diploma/GED required bachelors degree preferred. 1-3 years of related experience required.
