Job Description

Mid-level Information Technology Product Owner

The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Mid-level Information Technology Product Owner to join the team in Berkeley MO.

This position supports the P-8A program part of Boeings integrated defense portfolio to meet customers rapidly evolving needs across the spectrum of global conflict. The P-8As performance and reliability deliver confidence in an uncertain world. As a System Administrator and member of the team you will help build optimize and secure the technology that delivers strategic and tactical mobility solutions to support the warfighter mission.

The Product Specialist is a servant leader to a cross functional Information Technology (IT) team ensuring the successful delivery of IT solutions that support the Apache Training Systems environment. They represent the voice of the customer and play a critical role in managing the teams work scope including cost schedule and technical performance. The Product Specialist works closely with the product team program team and various other functional and support organizations.

The ideal candidate will work independently and within a team use strong collaboration skills to partner well with others to solve problems and understand interrelationships between activities to set priorities and establish team goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies such as Program Increment planning daily stand-up meetings sprint planning sprint review and sprint retrospective

  • Collaborate with Program stakeholders i.e. engineering and finance

  • Create User Stories Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done ensuring stories clearly communicate customer/Stakeholder needs to the development team; work with team to clarify stories as necessary

  • Break down and prioritize delivery of products and features by developing and maintaining the product backlog user stories and cross-product dependencies

  • Prepare and present reports on team performance including cost variances schedule variances and earned value metrics

  • Create analyze and status Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Integrated Master Plans (IMP) to meet team requirements for program deliverable

  • Identify potential technical schedule and cost risks and manage them according to the programs Risk Management process

  • Participate in Program Reviews Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and other program or management reviews as needed

  • Participate in Basis of Estimate (BOE) and other proposal artifacts as required

  • Collaborate with team and other program functions to define work scope schedule and budget

  • Serve as a technical liaison to the program and other functional teams and support organizations as needed

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of experience utilizing Agile process

  • 1 years of experience with technical product management

  • Experience within information technology

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification

  • Experience with Earned Value Management principles and methodologies
